About Joe Gillach
I’ve been fortunate, later in my career, to combine two of my greatest passions: real estate and international travel. That intersection has led me to launch this travel advice blog, where I share insights and discoveries from the road, while continuing to support property owners and executives with informal real estate guidance.

In addition to writing, I offer consulting on sales strategy and estate planning when real estate is involved, as well as executive relocation services for individuals and families seeking high-quality rental homes. With over 20 years of experience owning and managing multi-unit residential properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, I bring a seasoned, practical perspective to these transitions.
Before retiring from Progressive Property Management where I was co-owner of the firm, I was a Principal at Ratel Investments, a private real estate investment firm based in Tiburon, California, where I managed a multi-family portfolio valued at over $400 million. My earlier career included roles in management consulting with Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and before that, in journalism at ABC News in Washington, D.C., where I worked in various roles for the ABC Weekend News and This Week with David Brinkley programs. I hold a BA from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
